After School Activities at The Academy

Our preschool offers a wide variety of optional after-school activities for our students.  Activities begin at 3:30 p.m. on the school campus. Our goal is to engage students in unique activities that stimulate the growth of the whole child.

Playdough Club

Playdough Club is an engaging, hands-on activity group designed for young children to explore, create, and learn through the versatile medium of playdough. This club offers a variety of activities and projects that encourage creativity, fine motor skill development, and social interaction in a fun and supportive environment. Children can mold, shape, and design their own unique creations.

Music & movement

Music & movement is an active music experience for children ages 3-6. Students are introduced to basic music theory & rhythm through instruments, movement activities and songs. Rhythm sticks and bells are a great first instrument for young children as they help teach listening skills and following directions.

DANCE

Students will be exploring movement, coordination skills and dance moves to fun music!!  Our dance teacher has taught dance in the preschools since 1990 and opened her dance studio in Palm Desert in 1996. She enjoys coming to the Academy and teaching our preschoolers.

Gymnastics/tumbling

Students learn the fundamentals of gymnastics while promoting agility, flexibility and strength building in a consistent and developmental plan. Young athletes will enjoy the fun, animated and high energy classes with music through movement.
